Wall murals form a major part of the work of Geoff Williams. He has a wide range of experience in visual arts ranging from advertising art director to freelance illustration and fine arts. He has won several awards in each discipline. Although not immediately apparent, the main focus of this website is on wallpaper murals. The site includes examples of work produced in the persona of graphic designer, illustrator, mural artist and painter.
Tropical and jungle murals
Geoff has a reputation for stunning large-scale murals of rainforest, palm tree murals and pre-historic landscapes. Based in the sub-tropical hinterland near Byron Bay, Australia, he has successfully completed many projects in Australia, Singapore and China. Almost half of these paintings could be described as tropical or jungle murals.
Trompe l'oeil murals
Trompe l'oeil means 'trick of the eye'. This is a feature of most integrated mural and diorama painting and an important key to achieving the desired result is depth. Many mural paintings suffer from a lack of depth. To represent depth in a picture requires skill and practice. Of course, perspective and detail are also essential ingredients for successful trompe l'oeil painting.
Professional mural artist
In every aspect of projects involving murals, Geoff is thoroughly professional in his attitude and this is evident by the number of satisfied clients. All previous contracts have been completed efficiently and on schedule. None of his work has ever been rejected and has always been above expectation. This history is a guide to prospective clients who want to be assured that the final results will meet their requirements.
Painting murals
Mural painting is a challenging and rewarding occupation. There are many situations, both domestic and commercial, where mural art can transform a space like nothing else can. The challenge is to design a mural that not only complements but also enhances the space. The reward is seeing the picture materialise and hearing an excited and happy client. Everyone benefits.
Illustration for magazines
In 1985 Geoff was appointed as Art Director of the infamous Matilda magazine, which included the work of Australia's finest cartoonists and illustrators. He also contributed illustration art as well as designs and drawings for mastheads. His experience also covers stints on sunrise newspapers including the highly respected Byron Shire Echo.
